Who can believe we are in March already? Where has the time gone since our last blog post! 2019 finished strongly for our team at Caring with Carers.

Leading into the Christmas period we saw an influx of assessments and reviews. Wonderfully these facilitated the beginning of new placements, and authorised change to pre-existing placements. These changes assisted with the summer holiday needs of children, some of whom who were in care in hotels at the time.

The notion that our productivity directly correlates with the processing of placements is such a motivating and driving force for us.

Our Annual toy drive saw fantastic outcomes with our team delivering hundreds of gifts to children and young people in OOHC. Many of these children receive minimal gifts, some were without a placement this year, and some were with staff they were unfamiliar with. The toy kitchen sets and gifts vouchers provided a real boost to their spirits and the toy drive was a resounding success overall. We have high hopes of building this initiative each year.

We continued working over the holiday period assisting agencies with urgent provisional assessments, and before we knew it, 2020 had arrived! January was spent catching up on the back log from December, and most notably, we ran our first Shared Lives training for the year. This was a  full house and a wonderful group to start the year off.

February has allowed us a slight reprieve and we have been able to re-group, re-align and focus on our goals and motivators for 2020. Excitedly we have been working on a major project, the launch of new service, and we will be making an announcement of this very soon.

2019 was successful, industrious, productive and promising. Our vision for 2020 is even better!
